Not that she’s awake for enough hours in the day to notice, but in recent weeks Britney Spears ‘Femme Fatale’ has undeniably slid down the charts. However, the starlet’s label have cause to celebrate today for Amazon have reduced the price of the album in an attempt to help the LP avoid further embarrassment.

Amazon are now selling ‘Femme Fatale’ for $3.99 no more than a few weeks before she kicks off the world tour which is in support the release. The album debuted at #1 on its release back in March and has already spawned the hits ‘Hold It Against Me’ and ‘Till The World Ends’.
However sales of the record have declined week by week, not helped by the chart supremacy of Adele‘s ’21’ and Lady GaGa‘s ‘Born This Way‘ which sold more copies in one week at full price than Femme Fatale sold in an entire month.
With Amazon’s reduction of the price, fans of the ‘Toxic’ performer will be hoping that the release finds itself back on a chart position that doesn’t evoke head shaking and laughter. For with Beyonce‘s ‘4’ set for release in three weeks, it is difficult to see how Ms. Spears will recover from this well documented sales slump.

Femme Fatale is a strong album that surprisingly enough in the evolution of pop albums is an AMAZING effort on her part, behind Blackout, Femme Fatale is her second best album and in direct comparison between her counterparts, and her album, EVERY TRACK is listenable, none of the album is misguided, or hard to decipher. I have personally listened to albums that are in direct competition with her and they are all riddled with issues in comparison to Britney’s album such as:
Loud by Rihanna – She has the same issue as she always has on her albums, there are a handful of tracks that are good for the moment, but they are QUICKLY forgotten once the moment is over. . . its like a fast food meal, there is always the meat, and then the rest is filler.
Born This Way by Lady Gaga – Has this obnoxious Dance Dance Revolution factor, mixed with obnoxiously deceiving lyrics that can be taken any sort of way, no recognition of the brand that she just spent the last 3 years building, and super over exposure that renders listeners helpless to the fact that there is a Lady Gaga album, however Lady Gaga herself doesn’t even know the content of the album, let alone the listeners who will take one listen and ask who the hell is this? what am I listening to? should I be dancing, or running to my local place of worship to cleanse my soul. I was honestly a huge fan the first album, till I realized that the label just portrayed her as a hybrid Gwen Stefani, and Grace Jones mix, with Hip Hop superproducers feeding her amazing beats disillusioning the masses with what was apparently not her. >.>
4 by Beyoncé – its not that I think that this is a bad album, I just think that this time around Beyoncé has climbed to the top, but she has not figured out a clear and concise way to make HER own mark without the busy lyrics, big hair, over zealous dance moves, and nods to many a random artist, musician, lyricist, etc. [nobody is safe.] The album reminds me of a album that an artist would do their first time, but this album is very scattered, lacking purpose, or determination to go in any direction. She is amazingly talented, but at this stage in the game she needs to be laying the foundation for becoming a musical icon, and not simply because she is the prettiest fair skinned, dancing, and singing machine, but because she put out a product that critics and fans can agree on, and leaves you recognizing the talent and creativity of the artist, and not simply the art.
I love how people are saying GAGA’S sales are horrible. Some artists can’t even get that in their first week. And just wait, in 2 years time the album will sell 10+ million albums, just like the fame!

Yes, I do love her, but I can’t stand her new record! I’m not one of those people that wants something to do well, even if I don’t like it, just because of the person who recorded it! ‘I Am…Sasha Fierce’ was an exceptional album and deserved all the success it got, ‘4’ however, is far from it and I don’t think she should be awarded for it. I also preferred ‘The Fame Monster’ to ‘Born This Way’, and I don’t think it should have got so much credit, but fair do’s to GaGa and her team, they marketed very well. get your facts straight. gaga did not sell all her album full priced on the first week of release.. britney’s team expect not much from album sales, they will rake in millions of dollars through the femme fatale tour. the cd is great.
britney released 2 singles and both did well on the charts. it’s been almost 3 months since the release of ff but till the world end still dominates the airwaves and still at #7 in hot 100. gaga had already released 2 more singles after judas horribly flopped. now she can’t push the edge higher anymore and hair didn’t even make it to top 10..it’s just 2 weeks since the release of btw album and the singles are overflowing hoping to make it again on top of hot 100..i wanna go will rule the airwaves and charts next week.. by gagaga.
britney can sing and dance! she won the star search, remember? it’s her choice if she would lip synch or sing live, her fans love her performances eitherway..try watching her me against the music performance and tell me she can’t dance..she is by far the best dancer among her contemporaries..gaga can do dance moves but she doesn’t have the natural groove. beyonce, jlo and shakira are the ones who can dance too..sorry gaga..

gaga’s cd was sold at the discounted rate for only 2 days! 1 million sold is with the discount. 600k is the estimated sales at the regular price excluding the discount!!!
britney’s singles may be doing better than gaga’s but her cd is mopping the floor with britney!! by the way, gaga’s ‘fame’ cd is in the billboard top 20 (# 15) after 3 YEARS! where is britney’s ‘femme fatale’? oh, yeah! # 34 on ‘bb’s chart’ after 2 and a half MONTHS! britney’s singles may be doing good but cd revenues are bigger!
britney’s choice ( as you call it) to lip synch is because she can’t really sing! as far as britney having natural dancing ability, that’s a joke! even in her ‘me against the music’ video ( from her glory days) you can see that it is totally spiced and diced every two seconds to make it look as though she’s really busting on the dance floor!
she’s NEVER been in the dance catergory with real natural dancers like ‘janet, ciara, jlo, beyonce, etc. if you check out christina’s ‘dirrty’ and ‘candyman’ videos you can see even she’s workin’ it far better than britney ever did!
britney’s tour rehearsal footage from ET looks a little promising. maybe she will earn the big bucks you fans have been punked enough to shell out for those past pityfully poor pathetic performances from her other live shows! LOTTSA LUCK!!!

Femme Fatale is a good cd. Britney is awesome, still in the game after a decade. Who else is still popular from over 10 years ago? No one.
